<p><strong>Purpose:</strong> The aim of the study was to assess the impact of climate change on bird migration patterns in Europe.</p> <p><strong>Methodology:</strong> This study adopted a desk methodology. A desk study research design is commonly known as secondary data collection. This is basically collecting data from existing resources preferably because of its low cost advantage as compared to a field research. Our current study looked into already published studies and reports as the data was easily accessed through online journals and libraries.</p> <p><strong>Findings:</strong> Rising temperatures, changes in precipitation patterns, and habitat loss are among the key factors affecting migratory birds. Warmer temperatures are causing shifts in the timing of migration, with birds starting their journeys earlier or delaying them. Some species are extending their ranges northward as they seek suitable habitats, while others are altering their routes or shortening their migration distances. These changes can disrupt established ecological relationships, leading to mismatches in timing with food availability and breeding cycles. Additionally, altered migration patterns may pose challenges for conservation efforts, as traditional migration routes and stopover sites become less reliable.</p> <p><strong>Implications to Theory, Practice and Policy:</strong> Optimal migration theory, resource phenology theory and habitat suitability theory may be used to anchor future studies on assessing impact of climate change on bird migration patterns in Europe. Conservation efforts should prioritize the preservation and restoration of critical habitats along migratory routes and stopover sites. Policy interventions are needed to address the broader drivers of climate change and mitigate its impacts on migratory bird populations.</p>
